Why Fresh Podcasts?

We started the "BBQ" podcast at the end of 2018, as a result of years of mistaken entrepreneurship and success, the idea was to unload all the experience we had accumulated in the belief that a small audience would come and maybe someone in the stratosphere would be the pearl of wisdom.
We did not believe that after a year our small podcast would become the leading branding and marketing podcast in Israel, and one of the most successful in the business category.
The idea to expand to the web, is an idea that haunts us for many months, the epidemic is what convinced us to run forward and realize, our goal is to create a home for fascinating and quality content in a topic directory and also incorporate video content that will add another layer of content on top of audio content.

So what is a podcast anyway and how do you listen to it

Podcasts are revolutionizing the way people consume content for on-demand listening.

A good starting point is to think of a podcast as an on-demand internet radio. It's similar in the sense that you can listen to it on your computer or mobile - but a podcast is definitely much more than an internet radio.

A good example is to compare the world of podcasts to streaming platforms for movies and series such as Netflix - you choose what to listen to and when without a third party that mediates content such as traditional TV and radio channels.

Podcasts in Israel

Podcasts in Israel are on the rise, even though the field is in its infancy in Israel compared to the United States, where podcasts have become an accepted and respected way of broadcasting content. Big stars such as Joe Rogen and others have caused the podcast platform to explode and in the future this will probably be the most common way to consume "radio" content.

Podcast in front of radio

With the amount of content a podcast can provide, a regular radio broadcast, or "terrestrial radio" - as they call it - just can't compete. Traditional radio has a wide range of channels. As a result, radio stations broadcast their content - that is, they try to reach as wide an audience as possible so that they can reach their station. Because, in the end, this is what advertisers are looking for and that's why the radio is loaded with annoying advertisements and they control what you listen to by creating playlists. But a podcast, on the other hand, does not necessarily rely on advertising revenue like the cousins from the radio. Podcast magnification is its ability to target a specific audience that wants to consume certain content regardless of location or time, and is able to target or target itself only to those who want to listen to it. Therefore, while the audience of podcasts may be smaller than the audience of traditional radio (not for much longer), podcasts are definitely on the way to a global revolution.

How to listen to podcasts

Each podcast usually has a site that stores the full episodes, it can also be listened to in streaming apps such as Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitch, Podbin or iTunes Music. Another way is to simply download future listening episodes from the podcast's own site. Once you have downloaded the episodes that interest you, you can simply listen to them in the car, jogging, walking the dog, at work or anywhere and at any time convenient to you.

If you create a podcast

If you decide to create a podcast, it will be much easier for you to keep track of your listening data - how many people have actually listened to you, for how long, and if you create a loyal listening community you will usually know who they are and where they come from. Because the platform is the Internet and the hosting servers and not a traditional broadcasting station - there is no body that oversees the content - you will decide exclusively what you want to talk about and in what form.

In conclusion

If you are new to the world of podcasts, you should just start looking for something that interests you, for example if you like to hear content about business and entrepreneurship, just type in Google "podcast about business and entrepreneurship" and Google will already lead you.

Podcasts are definitely the future and probably in 20 years young people will not understand how the "old men" consumed audio through radio stations.
